How to get rich? What’s the secret?
By the 1960s, oil tycoon J. Paul Getty was the richest person in the world, so people were regularly asking him for advice on how to get rich. In 1965 he answered by writing a book called, “HOW TO BE RICH”. The title, as he expected, caused a stir. Why didn’t he call it “How to Get Rich”? Because his ingenious insight was that in order to GET rich one must know how to BE rich.
That elegantly sums up our philosophy of wealth and well-being. Few of us are going to inherit wealth or win a lottery, so we have to grow and secure wealth through our own effort. And this takes strong character, a productive lifestyle, common sense, wisdom, etc. – all the attributes of well-being.
The way to “get” is to “be”. Well-being is the pathway to wealth. This brilliant insight opens the doors of possibilities. This is “How To Be Rich”. Thank you Mr. Getty.
